VETERAN BROADCASTER TO CALL GAMES FOR COLONIALS
Pittsfield, MA January 24, 2011: The Pittsfield Colonials are pleased to announce that award-winning broadcaster, Chad Cooper, will join the team for the 2011 season.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to become a part of the Colonials organization,” Cooper said.

The 2011 season will mark Cooper’s ninth in baseball and his eighth in the professional ranks. The winner of the 2005 Frontier League Broadcaster of the Year award, Cooper began his professional career in 2003 with the Evansville Otters. He has since worked for the Traverse City Beach Bums (2006, 2010), Vero Beach Devil Rays (2007), North Adams SteepleCats (2008) and Windy City ThunderBolts (2009). The veteran broadcaster spends his winters calling men’s and women’s basketball for The College of Saint Rose.

One of the things that Cooper is excited about is Pittsfield’s ballpark,

“It’s going to be a lot of fun getting to call Wahconah Park my home. In eight seasons, I’ve broadcast in a lot of different stadiums and there is nothing quite like the feel of an older ballpark. When places like that get packed, the atmosphere is intense. It’s one of the reasons that you get into a field like broadcasting.”

A native of Philadelphia, Cooper now makes his home in Albany, NY.
