Can't Wait for Next Year

Both my wife and I enjoyed all the games this year at Wahconah Park. All the games were very exciting to watch. The Colonials always gave it their all to win and made it fun to be at the park. Can't wait for next season (2011).

Regrets No More

Before the season, I wasn’t sure if I was going to fall in love with this team. I've been one that comes to every game but always regret losing the Mets, Astros and other affiliated teams we've had.

This year, when I heard the idea of being called the Colonials and going with the "old fashioned" look, I thought, Here we go again, another team that doesn’t want to move forward. Boy, was I wrong. This team has turned my opinion around.

I hate to see the season end and can’t believe it’s the last home game. I am really going to miss being there and will be counting the days until next season.

Great Time

Thanks for such a great time, good food and most importantly...GREAT BASEBALL!

I thouroughly enjoyed my time at your quaint, "old-time" ballpark; most fun I’ve had at a game in a while.

Enjoyed Last Night's Game!

I live in Saxtons River, Vermont....95 miles from Pittsfield. I decided to go to last night’s game as I had not been to Wahconah Park since 1965. I went to seven games that summer as a 12 year old boy and that week developed my love for baseball that has never waned.

Wahconah is everything I love about a ballpark. Independent league baseball is so top-notch and well-played. The whole experience of baseball at Wahconah is so perfect, I cannot understand why every game is not sold out.

I hope to make it next week when you play Quebec. Good luck in that series. Thank you for all your efforts to bring baseball back to Wahconah.

Random List of Things to Like

There are many things to like about the Pittsfield Colonials. A randomly assembled list:

  • The team uniform, a well-assembled throwback to the early 20th-century. Great fonts, great wide collars on the jersey, great blue-and-red color scheme, great stripes on the hat. This is, by far, the best thing about the team. And when marketing matters almost as much as the quality of play for all teams outside the major leagues, the uniform is very important. The hat has already secured the slot of crowning treat for myself for the summer.
  • When I buy tickets at their downtown office, the staff says, "See you later at the game." And then you see them later at the game.
  • Each ticket costs $6. The beer (Sam Adams) costs $4 and the ice cream (Ben & Jerry's) costs $3. It might actually be a better deal to buy a ticket and enjoy a couple of drinks at a Colonials game than doing the same at a bar.

A Wonderful Experience

I just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful experience Saturday evening. Even though it was a tough loss, it was an exciting game to the very last pitch!

I would like to pass on my appreciation for accommodating our request to meet Brian Daubach. Meeting Brian meant the world to my wife who has followed his career for years. We can’t wait to make it back out to your beautiful ballpark again in the future.

Colonials Game a Summer Treat

On the beautiful summer evening of August 3, I treated myself and went to Wahconah Park to catch the Pittsfield Colonials.

The ballpark is baseball at its country best. The Colonials' neat uniforms are a throwback to an era long gone. The price was right: $4 for Seniors Night, but I treated myself to a box-seat right behind home plate for $7 (senior discount).

Under the lights of a pristine field, you hear every crack of the bat and pop of the pitcher’s fastball in the catcher’s glove. Even the umpires were colorful and expressive and a joy to watch. Parking is no issue and every seat has a good view. The whole evening was an enjoyable experience.

So chuck the remote and endless replays and support the Colonials, and let’s make sure they’re here to stay.

Backyard Treasure

My name is Jim and I live in Clarks Summit, PA.

This past week my son Kevin and I had the pleasure of taking in two Colonials games in Pittsfield.

The city of Pittsfield should be "Pittsfield" proud of bringing professional baseball back to one of the best ballparks in the country. This was our first time visiting your ballpark and you can bet it won't be our last. The games were exciting, and the ballpark staffing, service and food was outstanding.

I hope the Colonials have many successful years in Pittsfield.

Sometimes we just don't realize and appreciate the treasures we have in our own backyards—Wahconah Park is one of those treasures. Pittsfield should be proud of its grand old ballpark.

You want to be a kid again? Spend the day at Wahconah Park, you won't regret it!
